Champions' Planning Workshops
Your church is uniquely positioned and equipped to make a significant contribution to supporting the First Thousand Days (FTD) of life using the assets and strengths that it already has. By attending this Planning Workshop you, your task teams or church leaders will develop a clear action plan to take the next steps in becoming an FTD-friendly church.
Champions Planning Workshop
Once church leadership has declared their commitment to act and become a FTD-friendly church by signing up to activate your church, the next step is to identify a small team of 3 – 5 people who can be mobilised to assist their local church to respond to children in the FTD of life – this will be your FTD Champion Team.
Sikunye invites these FTD teams to attend a Champions Planning Workshop, alongside other local churches of all denominations across South Africa. During this workshop, each church will look at how its church can use its strengths and assets to best support FTD within its own context. It will be a time to share ideas and come up with new and interesting ways to excite your church about becoming FTD-friendly; whilst helping each church to build a church action plan that will help leaders, champions and congregants to support families. This event is usually held on a Saturday morning.
I have learnt that our 0-3 years are all part of our church and children church, and that we can also take care of them.
