your voice matters
Raising a child is never meant to be done alone. It truly takes a village. Yet many people are unaware of the importance of the first thousand days of a child’s life, or how they can play a meaningful role in strengthening families during this critical time.
This is where you can use your voice. When you speak up, you are raising awareness in your church and community. You are building that that supportive village. You help parents feel noticed, understood and welcomed, and you create a community where families know they don’t have to walk this journey alone.
Between Mother’s Day and Father’s Day this year, you can use the rhythms and practices you already have in your church to shine a light on the first thousand days. These are small and big moments that show you stand up for young children and help shape a hopeful future for families in your church and beyond.
This year’s theme is inspired by Luke 18, where Jesus calls the little children to come to him. His deep love for children shapes us to reflect that same love. As you raise your voice, you become part of a growing movement of people joining hands to build a brighter future for our nation’s children.
How does it work?
Between Mother’s Day and Father’s Day (10 May to 21 June), you do something to raise awareness about the first thousand days in your congregation. The scale is completely up to you: you might do one thing, you might do many things. You might include something in your existing church gatherings, or add a small moment to what you’re already doing. You know your church community best.
The good news is: we’ve created a range of tools to support you. These include sermon guides, devotions, prayer guides, posters, short moments for Sunday meetings, resources for parents, and more. You’re welcome to use these resources as they are, or adapt them to fit your unique context.

In this FTD month I am going to revive my church on FTD.

We must introduce the FTD to everyone! If the community can grab this to understand FTD of a child that it is very important, we will have a better place and I think and it will also reduce the number of children who did not develop well.
