Surrounding families with “bubbles”

The Bay City Church is seeking to be an FTD-Friendly church and has a heart to see families thrive and take steps forward into a hope-filled future so during lockdown they introduced “Family Bubbles” to surround families that need extra support. These family bubbles create an environment that is nurturing and safe. A place for families to have fun, ‘to be’, to play and to learn together.

Below are two voices of moms who have benefited from these family bubbles:

“2020 was so hard on us. Suddenly we couldn’t do the things we used to. My husband lost his job, and we couldn’t go out. My daughters were 1 and 6 and my prayer was God must keep us safe because we were afraid to go to the hospital or clinic. But God pulled us through. Through the church’s NGO, they helped us with food and clothing parcels

Then they started the ‘Family Bubbles’ group which was a very big part of getting us through. This supportive team, they are more than friends, they are family because the love they showed for our family was so amazing. Taking their time every week even though everyone is fearful of the coronavirus, yet they still find joy in spending time with us. We could tell our fears and worries and happy moments. My children enjoyed it too. They were free to express how they feel, and they could play. So, we know they are supporting us every step of the way. There are no words that can say how thankful we are and what impact it made in our lives”.

“Even preceding lockdown, the First Thousand Days (FTD) and Family Bubbles at our church have been a tremendous blessing to me and my children. As the pandemic unveiled itself last year it has proven to be even more so. The love and acceptance we have received are reminiscent of the family: a close-knit, supportive, interceding family within The Bay family. My family within my church family!

The support and sincere love have been overwhelming during these last few months. Not only are they always looking to meet the needs of my toddler but also the needs of my older children. My children all love the group and I have seen a notable improvement in my toddler’s development of late, thanks to our Book Sharing* and Bubbles groups. Through FTD Bubbles I have certainly experienced an expression of Jesus’s loving hand on my life and those of my children.”
